Piano Care
- Maintain a constant temperature and humidity around the piano.
- Do not put containers of water inside the piano, this will only create rust on strings and action center pins.
- Don't place the piano near heating or air conditioning vents or direct sunlight.
- In older homes with poor insulation don't put the piano against an outside wall.
- Never use any oil or grease on any part of the piano.
- Leave cleaning the interior of the piano to a technician (delicate parts inside are easily damaged or lost.)
- Playing the piano frequently helps keep the action working freely.
- An older piano should be tuned at least once per year to maintain its correct pitch. (more if heavily used)
- A new piano must be tuned at least 3 or 4 times the first year before the pitch will stabilize.
